Moodle 3.7 and the Value of Keeping Your Platform Up To Date

Remote Learner is pleased to announce that we are making Moodle 3.7 available to our clients on October 7th, supported by a Learning Spaces Webinar recorded yesterday, October 2nd. The Moodle 3.7 release primarily focuses on improving forum and messaging functionality as well as accessibility with enhancements that improve the user experience for administrators, instructors, and students alike.

Some of our favorite 3.7 enhancements include:

  • Messaging Enhancements: Improvements include a link to a full-page, 2-column view, the ability to mute conversations, and a personal space for notes, links, and reminders as part of the Messaging drawer.
  • Test emails: A new setting allows site administrators to easily test the outgoing mail configuration.
  • Forum – Inline Editing: MUA-funded improvements to the Forum activity include adding and replying to discussions online.
  • Add Media In Essays: Users can attach files such as images or record sound/video when answering an essay question.
  • Increased Forum Control: Instructors can add a private reply in a forum and manually lock discussions.
